Membership in the Burnaby Green Party
The Burnaby Green Party is made up of voting members and non-voting supporters. Voting members guide the direction of the Burnaby Green Party Elector Organization. They elect Party leaders, decide who will run as candidates and vote on other Party business.

Criteria to be a voting member:
Voting members need to meet the following Elections BC criteria for resident electors(voters):

    • 18 years or older
    • A Canadian citizen (permanent residents cannot vote in local elections)
    • A resident of B.C. for at least 6 months immediately before they register to vote
    • Be a resident of Burnaby on the day they register to vote
    • Are not disqualified by law (eg if they are in custody for an indictable offence)

For the full set of rules, see
    https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/governments/local-governments/governance-powers/general-local-elections/voting-local-elections/voter-eligibility.

Criteria to be a non-voting supporter:
Anyone who wants to help advance the Green movement and Green politics who is approved by the Burnaby Green Party Electoral Organization leadership team. People who are members of other municipal political Party in Burnaby will not be approved.

Non-voting members are welcome to attend meetings that are open to the public and volunteer their time and energy to the Elector Organization.

    Membership fee:

Voting members and non-voting supporters pay an annual membership fee of $10, but anyone who has difficulty paying this fee may instead pay any amount they feel comfortable with to the Burnaby Green Party Electoral Organization as long as they meet the Elections BC criteria – any individual who is 18 or older and a resident of B.C. and either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada may contribute to an election campaign.

    Avoiding conflicts of interest:

Voting members and non-voting supporters must not be a member of another municipal political Party in Burnaby.

    • You’re surrounded by equally committed team members who are ready to support you and lift you up.
